Summary: | 碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 工業設計學系碩博士班 === 90 === Most of studies on color combination of words and backgrounds, students investigate the effect of lightness difference on visual performance. However, there are all kinds of color combination of computer keyboards on the market. For expert user, they don’t depend on their vision to discern the words on the keyboards, when they type. But for novice user, they need to increase their dependence on their vision. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the best color combination sample of computer keyboard for school children. The literature review, deep interviewing, and experiment research methods are utilized.
This study includes three experiments, the experiment I investigates on the effect of Chinese character on visual performance and satisfaction; The experiment II survey the preference in color of school children; The experiment III investigates the effect of color combination in English letters, Chinese characters and backgrounds of keys on visual performance. And the last experiment investigates the effect of different models on visual fatigue.
According to these experiments, some conclusions had made as followed: in the effect of the Chinese character on typing time, the words had significant effect on the typing time. The best visual performance is Bold-black type, which had shortest typing time; the worst one is sung type, which had longest typing time. In the satisfaction, the words had significant effect on the satisfaction. The best satisfaction is Regular script type. In the effect of color collocation on visual performance, no matter color difference and lightness difference between English letters and Chinese characters, English letters and backgrounds of keys, or Chinese characters and backgrounds of keys, they had significant effect on visual performance. When the color difference and lightness difference became larger, the typing time became shorter. But color difference and lightness difference between English letters and Chinese characters had no significant effect on visual performance of boys group. In the visual fatigue, difference models had significant effect on visual fatigue. The critical fusion frequency of subjects on the keyboards in children computer classroom increase more than that of subjects on new models.
