Summary: | 碩士 === 銘傳大學 === 管理科學研究所 === 90 === Research concerning managerial discretions on autonomy and their impacts on supply chain performances is still at a preliminary stage. This study tries to investigate the impact of autonomy decisions by OEM buyers on their perspective manufacturing partners to understand how the decisions lead to effective partnership performance. The results can be beneficial to both the development of management theories and managerial practices. This research explores the impacts of autonomies in purchasing, logistics, production, and contract on OEM buyers’ competitive performances in product quality, flexibility, cost structures, delivery performance, and services.
The research uses linear structural models to verify the proposed autonomy effects with data collected from 152 companies in Taiwan. The results indicate that all of the autonomies from OEM buyers, except for the logistics related one, are positively associated with the OEMs’ capability indices. The buyers performances are directly effected by some autonomy dimensions, while other dimensions impact the buyers indirectly through their suppliers. This thesis provides some insights as to why the results may be obtained and, hopefully, the results can be of some value to companies seeking to enhance their market competitiveness through better cooperation with their supply chain members.
