The research design of this study was triangulation. Qualitative was phenomenological method that utilized purposive sampling.The participants in the study were thirty-six women, involved in a community environmental protection activity in southern of Taiwan . The study involved using either one or two individual tape-recorded interviews and process recording was established based upon those interviews. Data were analyzed, using Colaizzi’s content analysis. Three major themes emerged as: “choice and swinging” ; “bitter sweet”; ” suddenly seeing the light” and Eight subthemes emerged as: “medicalization of the female body”; “control of tradition thinking”; “information effect”; “physical and mental pain cheerfulness”; “the partner’s responsibility”; “free from control of medical priviledge”; “lesson from birth control pain. Furthermore, Quantitative study found that women suffered various complicates of physical and psychological symptoms. Those were due to the use of intrauterine devices or tubal ligations .To understand the incidence and probability of the symptoms and education levels relationships . The researcher used systematically analysed categorized and quantified by using ” content analysis”. The data were test by percentage and χ2 etc statistics were used to study women’s experiences in birth control. The results of this analysis revealed: the education high levels of the spouses affect women’s choices of birth control . For instance, spouse with higher education were more willing to use vasectomies. In terms of complications ,there were 27(75%) women who were pregnant, due to the failure of contraception. If the pregnancy is unplanned, due to the failure of contraception, the only way was to perform abortions. Women were harmed mentally and physically as a result of abortions. This research showed women carried a much larger related responsibility for the use of birth control and suffered from related complication. Women’s experience of birth control was dependent upon patriarchy, medical treatment, control of tradition thinking and information effect. Hence, it is important for health care professionals, not only to understand women’s circumstances but also provide accurate information concerning birth control.
