Description
Summary:碩士 === 高雄醫學大學 === 公共衛生學研究所 === 90 === Abstract A study was undertaken to ascertain the insecticide resistance in German cockroaches from Kaohsiung area, as well as the relationship between the insecticide resistance and it’s risk factors. We sampled 30 hospitals from Kaohsiung area and 30 residential area situated 5 kilometer from the hospitals. In each hospitals and residential area, we used F2 generation of 150 German cockroaches to test. Bioassys were done to understand the insecticide resistance by topical application. Resistance ratios(RR)were determined by comparing the field strains with the susceptible strain. The definition of resistance is RR>10. To realize the relationship between the insecticide resistance and it’s risk factors, We interviewed the pest controller in hospitals and the house keeper in residential area. The questionnaire consisted of the demographic information, the knowledge, attitudes and behaviors concerning with using insecticide for cockroach control. The resistance in German cockroaches to chlorpyrifos is 43.3%、to propoxur is 50.0% and to cypermethrin is 23.3% from hospitals. The resistance in German cockroaches to chlorpyrifos is 36.7%、to propoxur is 76.7% and to cypermethrin is 46.7% from residential area. In demographic information, the resistance in cockroaches was higher form hospital that is order construct, and the educational level of pest controller was under college. The knowledge, attitudes and behaviors concerning with using insecticide for cockroach control were found to be associated with the resistance in cockroaches to chlorpyrifos、propoxur and cypermethrin by multiple regression (P<0.05), respectively. In residential area, the demographic information is not to concern with resistance in cockroaches. The knowledge, attitudes and behaviors concerning with using insecticide for cockroach control were found to be associated with the resistance in cockroaches to chlorpyrifos、propoxur and cypermethrin by multiple regression (P<0.05), respectively. According to our study, we conclude that it is necessary to decreases the resistance in cockroaches the pest controller and house keeper must improve the knowledge, attitudes and behaviors with using insecticide for cockroach control.
