Summary: | 碩士 === 義守大學 === 管理科學研究所 === 90 === The purpose of this study was to understand the degree of satisfaction among operational room nurses of one teaching hospital in the south of Taiwan. A 5 Liker scale-structured questionnaire was developed and tested by content validity and internal consistency reliability (=0.92). A totally 67 subjects were attended in this study (participant rate: 87%). The data was analyzed by using descriptive statistics.
The results of this study were as follows. The average score was 3.218 with standard deviation of 0.733. The three most satisfied subjects were family support, satisfaction of one’s life, and colleague relationship with scores of 3.99, 3.91, and 3.76, respectively. The three lowest scored subjects were parking space availability, opportunity to study, and promotion standards with scores of 2.30, 2.66, and 2.81, respectively. There were statistically significant differences (P<0.05) among the following: the level of education, human relationship, year of working, and clinical ladders. However, the position and working environment had the negative effect on job satisfaction.
The results of this study can provide: 1. understanding of the degree of satisfaction among surgery unit nurses; 2. reference to the need of staff for hospital management; 3. accomplishing win-win situation for labor and manager by using related strategic planning; and 4. promoting satisfied customers by making staff satisfied first.
