A questionnaire, which is all set by us, is used as a tool to help complete this research. It is named "The Survey on the Frequency of the Involvement with the Leisure Time Activities of the University Faculty Members & All the Factors that May constrain the Involvement. All the materials offered for the research will be confined to the questionnaire. We describe in detail the involvement with the leisure time activities of the faculty members in Fu-Jen Catholic University with the data sorted out with SPSS 10.0 for Windows, Microsoft Excel 2000, “Frequency Distribution”, and “Percentage”. Furthermore, we apply averages to the factors that may constrain the involvement with the leisure time activities of the faculty members in Fu-Jen Catholic University. We also use α= .05 as the apparent standard to examine if there will be any apparent differences in the factors that might constrain the involvement with the leisure time activities of the university faculty members while the variables of the demographic statistics vary. After discussion and analysis, it is shown and concluded as the following: 1.Among the faculty members in Fu-Jen Catholic University, the rate for the ones who “regularly” take part in leisure time activities is prone to be low. The times in a week and the duration of each time for them to participate in the leisure time activities are not enough. Obviously, it requires self-encouragement and self-development of the faculty members. Even though, the school has already made some arrangements for the leisure time activities for the whole faculty, it needs improvements on time schedule and frequency. 2.The major type of the leisure time activities taken by the faculty is “body-building”, such as swimming, jogging, hiking, mountain hiking, gymnastics, biking, etc. For all of the above, the major factor that may constrain the leisure activities is “work”. For instance, it includes “busy work”, “long working time”, “no leisure time”, “huge working pressure”, “overwhelming workload”, etc. 3.There are significant difference between genders, ages, education, position, and salary on the factors that may constrain the involvement with the leisure time activities of the faculty members The conclusion and the suggestion brought out with this research will certainly offer a great reference for the administrative unit when they are arranging the courses and contents of the leisure time activities for the faculty members.
