Web-based instruction has been used in many colleges and universities recently. Therefore, it is important to understand information seeking models of Web-based learning students. As many universities are starting to develop and apply asynchronous technologies in teaching and learning. The research purpose of the thesis is as follows︰ 1. To understand the information-seeking behavior of asynchronous Web-based learning students; 2. To understand what information resources they use in order to finish their assignments; 3. To explore the problems that the students encounter in their information seeking and how they solve these problems. Personal interviews were used to collect data from students enrolled in Library Architecture course at National Taiwan University for this study. The results of this study reveal that: 1. The information sources most used in doing their assignments are : libraries, course homepages, and Internet resources; 2. Students use course homepages very often because it offers important course information to them; 3. When taking Web-based courses, students’ library use habits do not change much; 4. The most frequently used resources by Civil Engineering Science students are Internet resources, personal collections, and library; the most frequently used resources by Library and Information Science students are library, course homepages, and Internet resources. This thesis also gives some suggestions to related organizations. For universities providing asynchronous Web-based learning, the researcher suggests that they should enrich their web pages and post more related information. Also they should strengthen their discussion section and maintain it so the students can take advantage of it. For the university libraries, the researcher suggests that they should support Web-based learning courses, and cooperate with professors in giving better teaching and information. They also need to strengthen the quality of Internet services and to have better understanding of their graduate and undergraduate students’ information needs and information seeking behavior in Web-based learning. 碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 圖書資訊學系 === 90 === Internet has become more and more popular in our daily lives, and Web-based learning is a useful application in the learning area. Web-based instruction has been used in many colleges and universities recently. Therefore, it is important to understand information seeking models of Web-based learning students.
As many universities are starting to develop and apply asynchronous technologies in teaching and learning. The research purpose of the thesis is as follows︰
1. To understand the information-seeking behavior of asynchronous Web-based learning students;
2. To understand what information resources they use in order to finish their assignments;
3. To explore the problems that the students encounter in their information seeking and how they solve these problems.
Personal interviews were used to collect data from students enrolled in Library Architecture course at National Taiwan University for this study. The results of this study reveal that:

2. Students use course homepages very often because it offers important course information to them;
