Taichung city was chosen for studying. The composition of the fuel and the waste gas from vehicles and motorcycle were determined by GC/MS. And the environmental air were sampled and analyzed at various place. These analysis results were used in the calculation of CMB-8 model. The analysis results of the fuel show that the amount of aromatics in the gasoline is higher than diese0il oil. Aromatics in the 92 and 95 leadless gasoline and the diesel oil of the public gas station are lower than other company’s gas stations. There are about 30 kinds of organic compounds in the waste gas from vehicles and motorcycle be certified. The main compounds are paraffin, olefin, and aldehydes. The analysis results of the environmental air show that the VOC concentration along free way and main road is very high at the traffic time in the morning. And the distribution of VOC is very varied at the traffic time in the evening. A new source database, adtcchc.txt, was set up in this study. This database and the original source database of CMB-8.0 model were used to calculate the contribution of the volatile organic compounds form each sources. The simulation results indicate that mobile source is the main VOCs source in Taichung city. The contribution is about 59~85%. The contributions of industrial source, surface painting and solvent using, and biological source are 8~13, 6~18, and 0.4~2.0%. So, how to reduce the amount of VOCs from mobile source is a very important control tactics. Some new VOCs composition databases of variant sources were also set up in this study to investigate their suitability. Because of the VOCs composition database of motorcycle is lace in CMB-8.0 model and the original composition database of CMB-8.0 is uncertainty, so the simulation results also are not good. The value of R-square for the simulation results of CMB 8.0 model is less than 0.8. And the simulation results for using the analysis data of the receptor points is worse. However, The values of R-square of the simulation results for using new VOCs composition databases all are bigger than 0.8. And the contribution for using the analysis data of the receptor points is 88~124%.
