For a manufacturer, in order to increase competition it must improve product quality, delivery, prices and performance history etc. Based on Dickson and Weber observation, selection and evaluation of suppliers largely focus on product quality and delivery.
There are many ways to measure the performance of product quality with process capability index (PCI). Among those indices, 、 are often used by many people and there are many paper about it. But very few discuss measure and evaluation of the product delivery, and there are a few literatures on delivery. In contrast to the overwhelming methodologies developed for evaluating product quality, the study for evaluating delivery performance is relatively limited. According to the proposed by Pearn, this paper proposes a model for process time capability index and use the new index to measure delivery performance. And this article will also establish a contour plot called process time capability graph, which can simplify analysis process to increase practicability. Final, a factory producing optical glass instanced to show how to use the performance index.
