碩士 === 中原大學 === 化學研究所 === 90 === ABSTRACT
Nanocomposites possess vastly unique high properties which are contributed simultaneously organic polymer and inorganic fine powder. In this thesis, a novel segmented water base polyurethane/clay (PU/clay) nanocomposite based on polycaprolactone, isophorone diisocyanate, dimethylol propionic acid, triethyl amine, ethylene diamine, and water swollen clay is prepared. Water Base PU blending with water swollen clay approaching a nanocomposite form as comfirmed by X-ray diffraction and TEM studies. In mechanical properties, about 1% clay in PU/clay results in a large increase in the modulus and almost keep constant in the elongation. This phenomenon is the major point of the paper. From TGA data, increasing of clay content will shift Td to much higher temperature.
