Description
Summary:碩士 === 中原大學 === 化學研究所 === 90 === Abstract In this study, the derivatives of pyrrole, N-(2-hydroxyethyl)pyrrole (HEPY) and N-(3-hydroxypropyl)pyrrole (HPPY) have been synthesized and identified by 1H-NMR,13C-NMR and FT-IR spectroscopies. The homopolymers of HEPY and HPPY and their copolymers with pyrrole have been prepared by electrochemical polymerization and characterized by FT-IR spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry measurement. It was found that the voltage used for polymerization was increased with increasing the length of the side chain on the monomer. This is ascribed to the steric hindrance of the side chain. Therefore, when pyrrole was added in, the voltage needed was decreased. It indicated that the activation energies of the electrochemical polymerization for the derivatives are higher than that for pyrrole. The CV curves indicated that all the polymers synthesized were electrochemically revervible and stable. The current of the copolymers yielded during the redox reactions are larger than that of polypyrrole due to the presence of a proper amount of the OH groupes.
