碩士 === 中國醫藥學院 === 醫務管理研究所 === 90 === Abstract The burgeon elderly people in Taiwan accounting for more than 8% in 1993, results in steady rising demand for nursing home. On December 1999, there are 117 certificated nursing home; among of them 64 are hospital based nursing homes. Nurses usually account for the largest percentage in terms of hospital manpower. Therefore, nursing scheduling is a time-consuming job for nursing administration. Poor nursing scheduling causes not only high expenses but also high turn over rate. According to previous study, a nursing administration takes average 12.8 hours to scheduled nurses per month. In addition, whenever nursing administration is doing scheduling job, several limits should be taken into account, including related-law, operation policy and labor requirement. In this study, an efficient nursing schedule model is built up by mathematical programming　model. After the establishment of scheduling model, an expired study will be excuted to examine the appropriateness of established scheduling model.
