Specially, a private university is analyzed. There are four colleges (seventeen departments) in this university. The DMU(Decision Making Unit) is the department. The input variables are one-year total salary of the full-time faculty, total usage floor areas, and one-year total funding of the equipments. The output variables are the number of published papers, the number of NSC research projects, the total amount of funding of NSC projects, and the total amount of the funding of Non-NSC projects. The result of the CCR model indicates that there are only five efficient departments. However, the result of the BCC model indicates that there are eleven efficient departments. If we take one variable out of the selected four output variables, some departments are comparatively efficient. This indicates those inefficient departments will be comparatively efficient in different output variables.
