Frankly speaking, from 1942 to 2000 JCS has made a lot of contribution to American security and some famous figures are from JCS like as Collin Powell. But besides military duties, JCS also involves American diplomacy, and can influence the diplomatic policy. The Ph.D. dissertation hopes to clarify JCS how to influence American policy on China, 1947-1950. In order to recognize the relation between JCS and China, the dissertation will also introduce the development and history of JCS. In fact, on Taiwan few know about JCS. How JCS deals with the relations with President and Secretary of Defense, it is interesting topic to readers.
