Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 機械系 === 90 === Accident of motorcyclist can cause sever head, neck, thorax and cervical spine injuries. Attention should be given to study better protection devices to absorb more energy as motorcyclist subjected to impact load. So far, helmet is the most common safety product to protect head injury. During the impact, helmet will deform to absorb the impact energy and protect head. However, the protective device for neck, thorax and cervical spine does not have standard products. There are no testing methods to evaluate the protective performance of those products. Therefore, this research is set up a newly developed pendulum test using Hybrid III dummy for measuring relevant parameters to estimate air-jacket safety performance. Computer simulation models are also developed to study the design parameters for air-jacket. The achievements after completing this research can be listed as following three items: first, the testing methods and computer simulation models can provide an efficient way to estimate air-jacket safety performance. Second, dynamic characteristics and numerical results such as chest deformation are investigated. These results can combine with injury index to let us understand the severity of injury for motorcyclist. Third, the application of numerical model can conclude better design parameters for air-jacket.
