The architecture consists of hardware and firmware part. The core of the system is a 32-bit microprocessor; and we design an ASIC to assist the microprocessor to achieve the real-time requirement of the Baseband layer. The firmware program that executes on the microprocessor manages the principal protocol and control the status of the hardware. The interrupt mechanism is adopted for the ASIC to communicate with the firmware execute on the microprocessor.
