Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 電機工程研究所 === 90 === This thesis analyzed and designed several new types of directional couplers to achieve high directivity, including microstrip spurline couplers, microstrip feedback couplers, and broadside couplers. The microstrip spurline coupler is composed of two spurlines inter-connected by a microstrip line, while the microstrip feedback coupler connects lumped or distributed elements between the collinear ports of coupled lines. The directivity of broadside coupler is improved by the coupling between pillars of air-bridge and low layer metal, and by adding interdigital capacitance between upper and lower metal. The 3D fullwave EM simulation was performed to have optimal response, which shows dramatic directivity enhancement for proposed three types of couplers. Excellent agreement is found between the simulation and measurement results.
