Making the teachers teach effectively and students learn successfully is a challenging task in the process of education. Very often, it is difficult for a teacher to convey his own personal learning experience through oral instruction. Therefore, adapting the idea of knowledge mapping in the knowledge management field is probably the best way to improve learning and help students to confront with the challenge in this information-thrived world. In this field research, teaching experiments are used as the summative assessment of the system. Pre-test and post-test are adapted in this teaching experiment. This experiment includes 88 second-graders in electronics department at a vocational school. The students are divided into two groups: experimental group and control group. The experiment group is taught through knowledge mapping method, while the control group is taught through traditional literary teaching method. The research indicates that knowledge mapping method lead to a better result. The satisfaction survey also shows satisfactory result. In conclusion, knowledge mapping can be adapted in the academic and educational context to solve problems of presenting tacit knowledge, promoting learning motivation and enhancing learning.
