Summary:碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 資訊管理學系 === 90 === The rapid growth in Taiwan Internet use, combined with relatively easy market entry by the Internet Service Providers (ISPs), has resulted in a highly competitive supply of Internet services. According to recent reports, the emerging of Network Service Providers (NSPs) adds even more competition to ISP. Although Internet Content Providers (ICPs) attempt to strengthen the attraction of website and provide a new income avenue, they are also facing the fierce competition given to the low entry barriers. Recently, a new service Application Service Providers (ASPs) is gaining attention. ASP services range from software developers to Internet Service Providers, or from web portals to application outsourcers. In practice, ASPs have to focus on specific area and strategically partner with others who do provide some key capability in their respective areas. Besides, Internet Bubble burst since last year, global economic recession affects Internet services performance. This study aims at examing the factors affecting the success of various Internet services (ISPs, ICPs and ASPs). External industry characteristics as well as internal organization features are included in the study. We will empirically test the influences of pricing strategies and information technology on the performance of Internet services.
