Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 化學工程研究所 === 90 === Syndiotactic polystyrene (sPS) is a new crystalline polymer prepared by solution polymerization process. However, two polymerization problems have been often encounted ─(1) low monomer conversion and (2)reactor fouling. In this thesis the purpose is to synthesize some dispersants to solve the problems. In the recent years, the BASF Co. has synthesized a dispersant for the sPS solution polymerization process by copolymering styrene and 1,1-diphenylene. In our work we have synthesized two kind of dispersants by anionically polymering these two monomers at different times with a different order of sequence:(1) random copolymer of styrene and1,1-diphenylene S-co-DPE; and (2) polystyrene-b-(S-co-DPE) . Finally we measure the thermal properties of these two polymers by DSC and TGA, and NMR spectrum and IR spectrum, and make a comparison with those of the conventional PS.
