Summary:碩士 === 元智大學 === 電機工程研究所 === 89 === Electromagnetic pulse (EMP) produced by lighting or nuclear explosion potentially threats the electronic equipments, which exhibits the increasing importance of EMP shielding to provide proper protection for the equipments. This thesis studies the effectiveness of EMP shielding. In particular, two types of shielding approaches by continuous and discrete materials are considered and compared. This study focuses on the characteristics of shielding effectiveness according to various criterions. Systematic variations of shielding effectiveness by different criterion are concluded by numerical analysis that employs electromagnetic analysis methods. Theoretical review on the analysis method as well as numerical results are presented and discussed in this thesis.
