For now, there are no practically promoting courses especially designed for different major backgrounds in our vocational programs. In the 1998 academic year, the percentage of the students majoring in the electronic engineering in the vocational program is 8.58%. The electronic industry has been the leading motive power in our manufacturing industries, even in the annual growth rate, exports and investment plans, and it plays the important role in our economic development. The purposes of the thesis are to accomplish the course planning principles of the practically promoting the environmental and safety technology for the E.E. department in the vocational programs. The thesis took the following research methods and steps are document analysis, interviews, questionnaire (the were 500 students of electronic-related departments from 4 university of science and technology, effectual questionnaire are 297), statistical analysis (analyze the questionnaire by SPSS software), summarization and organization and expert's verifications. The conclusions of the study are:(1) despite of the chemical engineering department (21/25), there are only a few environmental and safety related courses in other departments or only one of the two courses is planned, (2) the students familiarity with environmental and safety knowledge in electronic-related departments in vocational schools, because of their major background, marks variations (P<0.05);(3) there are more environmental and safety courses in the chemical engineering department (3.051), but their familiarity with environmental and safety knowledge is not the best;(4) accomplish the course planning principles for practically promoting the environmental and safety technology in E.E. department. The suggestions this thesis submitted are below:(1) based on the results, accomplish the course planning principles of the environmental and safety for the college of engineering;(2) based on the results, accomplish the teaching plan of the related courses.
