New internet applications are being developed in a very fast pace. Because the internet is so widely used today, network congestion has become a major problem. This results in poor network efficiency. Of course we can always increase the bandwidth to solve this problem, but it is not the best possible way. The exceptional flow caused by the interruption on the internet occupies a lot of the bandwidth, this exceptional flow greatly affects the normal flow on the network. Due to the reason stated above, our research is based on the information obtained from the traffic analysis and the traffic statistics to analyze the congested network environment, and to determine the sources of the exceptional flow. Based on the research model and the policy making of the internet, we can use separate-flow method to separate exceptional flow and normal flow. This way we can eliminate the influence exceptional flow has on normal flow, and further eliminate network congestion. Our research is making a prototype system using network simulator and comparing it with products currently available on the market.
