Owing to the rising tide of knowledge management, it stimulates the thorough discussions of all walks of life. As a whole, the healthcare industry processes the supreme amounts of intellectual elite, whose science is not second to high technological industries. However, the administration of hospitals is still in the phase of enlightenment. Especially, the management model of knowledge is the issue that arouses more concerns. If a hospital want to gain the competition superiority in such a fierce competitive environment, the first thing is to think about how to develop the management action that benefits to the developing process. So, how to improve organization achievements effectively in the process of knowledge management through effective collection and management actions of knowledge is a very important task at present. Thus the goal of the study is to prove the relations of knowledge management model of Taiwan healthcare industry from the angles of characteristics, collection sources, and management actions of knowledge.
The study takes all of the hospitals as the objects of research on "The Qualified Name List of the Evaluation of Hospitals and Teaching Hospitals from Year 1998 to 2000" announced by the Department of Health. Namely, to proceed the general survey by questionnaire of mail toward hospitals above district teaching hospitals. The total sending out questionnaire is 126 copies, and the effective recycled questionnaire is 47 copies.
The results of verification are as follows.
1.The knowledge characteristics of higher degrees of medium and external manifestation incline to be collected from the interior part of hospitals. People also use the policy of internal collection for knowledge of high complexity.
2.The knowledge characteristics will influence knowledge model of "Foundation Construction of Information", "Inspiration Measures", and "Manpower Resource Planning", etc. Among them, the influential aspect of the characteristics of knowledge changeability is greater.
3.The two knowledge collection sources do not have divergent results of effects for knowledge management achievements. That is to say, the achievements will not have eminent differences no matter adopting internal or external collection.
4.Knowledge management actions have apparent positive relationship with knowledge management achievement. The more emphasis on "Manpower Resource Planning", and "Inspiration Measures", the more effects for the interior flow path and achievements of the entire organization.
5.In knowledge management actions, there are only Foundation Construction of Information, and Inspiration Measure that have distinguished differences for the sources of knowledge collection.
