Applied Semiotics study on the difference of encoding and decoding objects between designers and users-with objects transferred from function to meaning of living as example

The study is divided in three major parts: part 1: collect and study the reference about the research. The purpose is to increase the researcher''s theoretical sensitivity and to be the compare data of research operation. In part 2, use the grounded theory to interview the designers and users. For gaining the differences of them when an object''s meanings is encoded and decoded. Semiotics will be used as a theoretical framework to analyse the data gained from the Interview. The purpose is to create the design mode and to apply on design implimantation. In this phase, an experiment of design implimantation will be used, the process and results of the experiment will be observed and analysed, a further interviewed will also be made. In part 3, the proposed design process will be issued when the results of these part research one intergrated. It is builded the proposed design process could benefit the designers in the attempt of narrowing down the gap of meanings'' construction. Sheng-houng Lin 林盛宏 2001 學位論文 ; thesis 149 zh-TW
