And number of the people with limb disabilities are almost 306,000 .Most people with disabilities have to work for life, so how to work effectively is the most important to them. Today, computer are so integrated into all education area and most employment situations that people with disabilities must be able to use them in order to participate and compete effectively in these environments. Therefore, to development the computer assistive technology for shorten the difference between the nomal people and people with disabilities is necessary, and several institution are try their best to do it. This research mainly aimed to application the concept of Usability Engineering to investigate the particular operate mode and need. According to the result, design a computer input assistive technology suit to the single upper limb amputee. During the process of the research, the particular operate mode and need. are analyzed and integrate with the observer methodology. There are the discoveries as those problems including the single upper limb amputee use to key in with the single complete hand, the second is the single upper limb amputee represent the QWERTY keyboard as not easy to find the key he want, and sometimes he couldn’t press double even three key with single hand at the same time. This research application the usability evaluation to the two elements of keyboard design as those first is how to arrange the alphabetic keys and the second is the position of keys. The result are alphabetic arrangement and position the keys as array or stagger. Integrate with those result to plan the design principles and get the “Concept 1”.And then produce the “Concept 2” that most suitable computer input asistive technology for the single upper limb amputee according to the result from the usability evaluation for “Concept 1”.
