This strain that can produces red pigment and after an accurately taxonomy to identify it as Serratia marcescens. Normally, Serratia marcescens can produces two kind of red pigments which are prodigiosin (C20H25N30) and pyrimine (L-2(2-pyridy1)-γ-pyrrolone-5 carboxylic acid). After we separated, rarefied and analysis the red pigment of P-125, the structure is carotenoids, which is different from the traditional Serratia marcescens. This pigment could yields covalent bonds with many kinds of 2 valence metal cation during the culture medium and also, it has the growing ability and reproductive capacity in high concentration of heavy metal solution; we further found out the reason of this strain produces pigment probably is for agonists toxin of heavy metal and then we study the removal efficiency of this strain to heavy metal such as lead, cadmium, iron, zinc, copper, nickel, chromium, manganese in the cultured synthetic fluid. We also study the influence of removing heavy metals in different pH, culture period, calcium ion, anion and common metal.The result shows that the removal rate of Pb reaches 98% during 10 ~ 200 ppm, in 200 ppm, Cd is 80%, Fe is 71%, Zn is 45%, Cu is 22%. Cr+3, Ni and Mn are not growing properly, perhaps concerned with toxin and ionic valence, which needs further study. Hexachromiun was unable to analysis due to it’s using UV colorimetric analysis and caused interference by red pigment of strain. To conclusion the above, this strain’s removal rate to heavy metal is: Pb>Cd>Fe>Zn>Cu>Cr3+>Ni>Mn
