Summary: | 碩士 === 臺北市立師範學院 === 國民教育研究所 === 89 === The purpose of the study was to explore the immediate and follow-up effects of empathy group training on interpersonal relationship of fifth-grade children with divorced parents.
The subjects of this study consisted of 12 fifth-grade children with divorced parents at Hu-lu elementary school in Taipei. They were arranged randomly into an experiment group and a control group. The experiment group was treated with 10 sessions of empathy group training, 50 minutes a session and twice a week. The control group did not receive any treatment.
Instruments for measuring the effects included Parent-Child Relationship Scale and Social Relationship Questionnaire. The data was analyzed through one-way analysis of covariance. Furthermore, interviews with the experiment group about parent-child and social relationship and feedback from parents, peer, and teachers were collected to evaluate each individual’s growth as the evidence of experimental effects.
The findings of this study are listed as follows:
1. The results of quantitative research
(1)The effects of empathy group training on parent-child relationship of children with divorced parents were no significant exhibitions of immediate and follow-up effects of empathy group training on children''''s parent-child relationship.
(2)The effects of empathy group training on peer relationship of children with divorced parents were no significant exhibitions of immediate and follow-up effects of empathy group training on children''''s peer relationship.
2. The results of qualitative research
Children''''s behavioral changes are listed as follows(1)They can care about people.(2)They can understand others'''' emotions.(3)They can listen to others actively.(4)They can understand the content of others'''' conversations.(5)They can understand others'''' feelings and be thoughtful.(6)They can change the way they get along with others.(7)They can decrease the conflicts with others.(8)Peer group would like to play with them.(9)They make more friends.(10)Their parent-child relationship is improving.
3. Empathy group training programe has been modified, further implementation reference.
Based on the findings of this study, several suggestions for school guidance and further research are selected and discussed.
