Summary: | 碩士 === 淡江大學 === 建築學系 === 89 === After the agricultural time progressed to industrial time, following the economic development in city caused by industrial revolution, the city development in Taiwan has created a speedy growth population and an enlargement of manual environment that the style of living environment began to encounter change. In early time, Taipei town is a basin consisting of many rivers and ditches with abundant resources and holds excellent natural environment. But now the situation is changed. The original ditch system and culture succession were damaged because ''only focus on economic development and neglect the continuous use of natural resources, as well as the public ignores the quality of city''s open space.
In Taiwan, the ditch system most belongs to the self-established water facilities by the public and ''Liu Kung Ditch'' is also involved. Such man-made waterway (ditch) mainly used for agricultural irrigation is worthy of preservation other than by intact and rigid way because whole structure of ditch system is like a live historical teaching material. The purpose of this research is expected to prepare a set of preservation plan for using the historical space of ditch system by database establishment of ditch system, arrangement and analysis on use mode of ditch space and surrounding land. Because what we want is a ditch place where involved in existing living style and current environment and is a kind of recycling on activated space.
On-site survey, measuring and drawing, supplemented interview with local habitants and collection of literature are the methodology used in this research. Through above said operative procedure, transfer the data acquired to an evaluated one to be a recycling preparation when the ditch system recovers in the future.
The ditch space where many citizens have beautiful memory provides a high suitable space for activities. It ought to rebuild the living experiences as could as possible. In addition, the ditch is an open man-made river (blue belt) with continuous characteristics in a city. It’s expected to introduce and preserve the development history of ditch completely and perfectly through rebuilding and recovery of ditch system.
