With the influences of the international environment, many Latinamericans had been aware of the unfair treatment they accepted and started to ask for democracy. As for Argentina, the Army controlled this country since 1976 and brought the darkest chaos to the society. In the dirty war, many people were tortured even killed with no reason, and this made the strong claim of human rights in Argentina. Add to the wrong strategies adopted by the government, the economic situation had go from bad to worse. These all push the people to ask for democracy. After the loose of the Falkland war in 1983, the governer decided to hold the fair election and back to democracy. Then, the elected president Alfansín tried hardly to rebuild the democracy in Argentina. Unfortunately he still failed in saving the economic chaos and finally transferred the power to Menem through another fair election. Chen Ya-Hung 陳雅鴻 2001 學位論文 ; thesis 144 zh-TW
