Summary:碩士 === 淡江大學 === 水資源及環境工程學系 === 89 === One of the critical problems in hydrological frequency analysis is that the probability distributions used in frequency analysis cannot utilize the higher-order moments of observed data. An approximate distribution is modified from Gram-Charlier approximation to gamma distribution in this study, which can utilize higher-order moments in hydrological frequency analysis. Synthetic data and observed data are used to test the proposed method. The results indicate that approximation distribution is more suitable than commonly used probability distributions in hydrological frequency analysis.
