Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北科技大學 === 機電整合研究所 === 89 === ABSTRACT Energy Savings of 20-hour operation of escalators in Taipei MRT stations are the main objective of the present study. The study was completed in four different stages, including the general characteristics investigation, the load distribution analysis, as well as the experimental verifications and evaluations for the said escalators. The general characteristics investigations were conducted on the most major brands used in this island. They were nine makers including OTIS, Schindler, Mitsubishi, KONE, Hitachi, Thyssen, Toshiba, CNIM and Fujitec. During this stage, the design concept has been developed after the control methods and operation patterns were fully understood. The passengers’ loads on an escalator were found that periodical peaks existed at the second stage. At the stage of the conceptual design, two major energy saving methods were determined in the investigation. These were to use inverter startups and operations, and to slow down the operation speed in case of the off-peak period. In additional that, a voice warning system together with photo sensor could be included as the by-benefit. According to the result of experimental measurements, the concept of this research has been proved feasible and can be widely used as the reference for the Taipei city subsequent MRT network and for the planning of Kaohsiung MRT. In addition, it may even be used for the building of walkways and overpass escalators being promoted now a day. Furthermore the results of the present study also provide a way to save electrical energy and to minimize the maintenance costs.
