Description
Summary:碩士 === 東海大學 === 工業工程學系 === 89 === Because of the increasing popularity of Software and Weber, screen icon allocation must be further considered. The research investigated the effects of screen icon allocation on mouse clicking performance using the methods of experiment and questionnaire. 30 second-grade students of high school were selected for doing the test. The results are as below: 1.Icon allocation has influence on mouse clicking. The easiest place to click is the top center of the screen. The most inconvenient place to click is the bottom right. 2.Icon size can also influence the time used to click the mouse. According to the test result, Icon size is recommended to be at least 5.3mm × 5.3mm. 3.Clicking sequence and direction can influence mouse-clicking time.(1) Clicking top-to-bottom is better than bottom-to-top. (2) Clicking from left to right be better than from right to left.(3) Clicking counter-clock has better efficiency than around clock. According to the process and the result of this research, the following rule is highly suggested. The size, location and clicking sequence of icons depend on the free space size of screen, the importance of icon, the clicking-frequency of icon and the necessity of the multi-selection of the screen icons.
