By using SN2 reaction to connect the hydrophile polyoxethylene group sides of the hydrophobic Pentadecafluorooctanoyl, a series of nonionic surfactant were synthesized. The synthesized products were tested with FT-IR to determines their structures. The effects of the surface tensions from surfactant with different molecular weights and the ability on decreasing the interfacial tension between the water and FC40 was also evaluated. The surfactant at various concentrations were then made into emulsion to analyze the particle sizes and stability. The synthesized Di-Pentadecafluorooctanoyl Polyoxethylene Esters have significantly different surface tension and interfacial tension with FC40 when comparing to the Polyoxethylene Glycol. It showed better results in decreasing the surface tension and interfacial tension. The CMC can be found on both surface tension vs. time and interfacial tension vs. time graphs . The particle sizes decrease as the concentration of surfactant increases. The emulsion is more stable at higher solution concentration. However, after a certain concentration, the relationship becomes independent. 林獻財 官常慶 2001 學位論文 ; thesis 91 zh-TW
