Summary: | 碩士 === 中國文化大學 === 建築及都市計畫研究所 === 89 === Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is now vastly applied in many different areas because it can effectively help the planning process. However, in the traditional process of planning, many factors like local culture and social customs are usually hardly to fix its quantity. As a result, they are many conditions must be discussed by experts. Therefore, the process is very involved and dynamic. These issues make the system highly complicated. It is difficult to using mathematical models and equations. In addition, they are also the limitations when we use GIS to help us making decisions.
Therefore, we need to help the planners to solve the problem mentioned above efficiently by building a decision-making support model with this research. This research will adapt the bottom-up method, Artificial Neural Network (ANN) to be the main idea behind the thesis and use GIS as a tool to analyze and display information. Also, we will use the city of Kaohsiung as an example for our ANN model after we have discussed the process and knowledge of urban renewal. Finally, ANN will be tested with the “Root of Mean Square Method” and “Spatial Method”.
From this research, we can show that, by integrating both ANN and GIS, we can effectively help the urban renewal process. The results include:
1. Analysis which parts of urban regeneration process can be supported by using ANN.
2. Building an urban renewal support concept model that integrates both GIS and ANN.
3. Using the city of Kaohsiung as an example for our case study and ANN training.
4. Gathering the results of case study and test.
5. Building the process and method to integrate both GIS and ANN.
This research is a basic and experimental one. Not only will we build a basic model describing how to integrate ANN and GIS together, but also generate an urban renewal inference model that can be used as the basis for any related future research.
