碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 機械工程系 === 89 === With the progress of Information Technology, many traditional workflow affairs can be modularized, and be developed into an automatic workflow system. In the extremely competitive setting, it is the efficiency of job execution and the prompt response to the demands of market and customer that distinguishes among businesses. As a result, the applying of automatic workflow techniques is an essential element of perpetual operation and competence assurance, which can help migrating the traditional workflow of a business to an automatic workflow system platform, making the business management procedure more effective and saving considerable quantities on cost. This essay is to confer related techniques to workflow, and to apply these techniques to the automation of workflow operation. In order to verify the practicality of automatic workflow, this essay, based on a virtual periodical publisher, confers concepts of workflow from analyzing, designing to implementing the automatic workflow applying system of the publisher that can be utilized online. In addition, other business workflows, such as purchasing list procedure, ask for leave procedure, or achievement assessment procedure, all can be realized by referring to the study case in this essay. During the system-analyzing phrase, UML (Unified Modeling Language) modeling language is applied to probe into system demands of actors of various kinds. In the designing and implementing phrase, Domino Workflow by Lotus is adopted to realizing the automation of “call for paper process” and “having a special issue process” for EDB publisher. All processes of the publisher are constructed on Web platform so that workflow participants can proceed to work by using browsers connecting to internet.
