Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 資訊管理系 === 89 === Mission effectiveness is defined as a combined measure of system availability at each task-arrival time and system reliability during the task-execution interval. Mission effectiveness of parallel system measures the interaction between the system performance subject to random failure and repair and the random task-arriving process in a system. For parallel service system, derivation of mission effectiveness seems formidable. A simulation model is developed for studying the mission effectiveness of a parallel service system. Empirical results show that the improvement in mission effectiveness is not a linear function in the number of parallel machines and saturates after some number of machines. This critical number depends on the other parameters. Results can be applied to aeronautic control, military defense, and network management problems.
