It results in a heavy burden on natural environment. Recently, studies on sludge recovery focus on the improvement of storage demand and reuse efficiency. The sludge applied in this study included the sludge from water treatment plant, and from the industrial wastewater of semi-conductor plant. Current study is composed of two parts. The first is to explore the characteristics of sintering body with different operating parameters (sintering temperature、molded pressure、sintering time), and to find the optimal conditions for the reuse of the sludge. The results obtained from the first part were applied in the second part by changing the mixing ratio to investigate the influences of additive on sintering body characteristics. The result showed that most important parameter affecting the sintering body is temperature. The neck growth of sludge powder is more effective, followed by more solidness and density of sintering body with higher temperature. Though longer sintering time under constant temperature resulted in better liquid-phase sintering. High molded pressure increased the density of green body and sintering body, and decreased the volume shrinkage of sintering body.
