Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 機械工程學研究所 === 89 === This study deals with the generation of 5-axis roughing paths for an axial-flow propeller. The axial-flow propeller is commonly used for aerospace and civil industry. Various kinds of manufacturing methods have been reported. The axial-flow fan has protruding and twist part which makes the conventional 3-axis miller incapable of finishing the part. The thin blades make the manufacturing more difficult to manage. Presently most commercial CAM systems for 5-axis control are lacking of generality and functions for the tool path generation required. Although the roughing is the most important procedure influencing the machining efficiency and the condition for the following finishing process, a lot of difficulties arise to perform 5-axis control rough cutting. The collision between tool and surrounding objects is a particular problem to handle. This is what the present research aims to resolve. The method devised allows a propeller-like shape to be actually milled with efficiency and accuracy. As a result, the validity of the method proposed is confirmed.
