Then, the failure mode of CVT is established based on theoretical analysis and practical considerations. Finally, CVT failure related current patents are searched, analyzed and evaluated. As the results, to the most critical items, possible design directions and improvements are proposed. This study established the CVT failure mode analysis table, analyzed current CVT related patents and proposed possible directions and design improvements.
