Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 電信工程學研究所 === 89 === Due to rapid growth of the Internet, the requirement for more bandwidth has become a problem needs to be solved urgently. Wireless access technologies have the advantages of shorter deployment time and lower cost, in comparison with wired solutions. Therefore, wireless solutions have become popular candidate for lately deployed networks. However, wireless networks and wired ones are very different in nature. The higher and time-varying, location-dependent error rate in wireless networks have been a challenge for network managers to provide guaranteed QoS over wireless networks. In this thesis, we first derive stochastic performance bounds under the assumption of EBB traffic model and EBF channel model. Then we propose a measurement-based call admission algorithm providing stochastic guarantee for accepted flows based on the bound equations. Then we discuss about the tradeoff between system utilization and QoS guarantee violation probability, by tuning the parameters in call admission algorithm in simulation cases. Finally, we propose a procedure for network operators to evaluate its risk under a given QoS contract.
