The focus of this study is placed on the behavior of water infiltrating into the soil of the paddy field to recharge the groundwater, of which is deemed to be one of the ecological role of the paddy rice field. In general, the existence of plow sole (or impervious hardpan layer), near to the surface of paddy rice field is considered to be the main cause of decreasing in water infiltration capacity. In this connection, breaking through the plow sole has ever been adopted for increasing in water infiltration rate of paddy rice field, however, whether the broken plow sole can be recovered or not is not quite clear now. The experiment of this study is designated to clarify in this regard. Three types of simulation were performed, namely plowing, compacting and plowing and compacting, respectively. It is found that, after plowing once, the water basic infiltration rate was stable and decreased to 63 per cent of the original one; after compacting 15 times, the water basic infiltration rate was stable and decreased to 30 per cent of the original one; after plowing and compacting 14 times, the water basic infiltration rate was stable and decreased to only 4 per cent of the original one. This implies that, the simulation of plowing and compacting is the better one for decreasing basic infiltration rate. Yih-Chi Tan Chen-Wuing Liu 譚義績 劉振宇 2001 學位論文 ; thesis 87 zh-TW
