碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 園藝學研究所 === 89 === The study investigates the plant species and the planting forms of 6 urban parks in Taipei, and analyses the choosing of species and planting forms of urban parks in the basis of the history of landscape design and regional ecology and culture. The purpose is finding the relationship between the expression of planting design and the context of regional ecology and culture in urban parks of Taipei. Second, studying the planting design theories in the respect of representation of ecological and cultural context and then. According to the ecological and cultural characteristic of Taipei, reorganize the planting design procedure in regard to representation of regional significance. The procedure is a design thinking for the representation of sense of place by planting design. The findings of case studies show that planting design characteristic of regional ecology and the composition of plant species in the chosen parks is highly similar. Planting froms are lack of regional ecological and cultural content and sense of place. The author provides a procedure of planting design thinking which is based on regional significance. Disigners can get ecological forms by investigating natural environment or studying the ecological datas of a place in the past. Cultural forms can be got by studying the histroyial pictures, description of literature about a place or by investigating landscape significance in a place. In this way, designers can find some vocabularies of form or elements of landscape.
