Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 森林學研究所 === 89 === Thinning operation is one of the important measures of forest management. Studies show that thinning promotes the formation of forest growth, volume of materials harvest, and increases wood quality and overall forest appearance. Therefore timber afforestation requires properly timed and carried out thinning in order to best accomplish forest safety and increase forest output. The purpose of this study is to research into a 25 year Cryptomeria japonica plantations project as well as its market value and make calculations on the standard work load and project cost based on an analysis of the time and work involved in commercial low thinning. We will utilize the Direct Time Study Intensive Sampling (DTSIS) method to both directly and continually measure all of the related operational items of thinning for a set time. This standard time was obtained after including the difference in non-working time (allowance and rating) and is as follows: 1. Motion study of set low thinning operation can be separated into 4-step duty of felling, pruning and bucking, logging, and loading and transportation. Allowances and ratings can be determined for all 4-step duty of thinning operation by using the Westing-house leveling system and referring to allowances published by the International Labor Office(ILO). 2. Standard operation times can be obtained after average operation times are added to allowance and rating after which the standard operation times can be used to calculate average daily standard work load of each area (felling operation- 8.89m³/day, pruning and bucking -7.16 m³/day, logging operation-15.85 m³/day, and loading and transportation -19.95 m³/day). 1. Standard work load can be used to determine production cost, of which the cost of human labor for all 4-step duty of thinning operation makes up 57.4%, additional equipment/materials, and other costs make up 14.8%, while transportation costs come to 9.7%. The results of our study from thinning operation show that, it can yield profit of 18.1%. Also, this results can avoid the incorrect knowledge, about benefit to cost will less than 1, during thinning process that almost cause in resources wasting or impact on the efficiency of forest management. This result can be serve as the reference of future forest management.
