Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 哲學研究所 === 89 === A study on the Mystery of Life and Death as Revealed through the Phrase “Emergence of Life as Being the Process of Change” from the Book of Changes. Abstract As the title of the present thesis may suggest, our main concern is to have an investigation on the idea of human life and death from the Book of Changes, especially through the phrase, “Emergence of Life as being the process of change ”(生生之謂昜).We will first concentrate our attention upon the concept of “Change”, from which we attempt to reflect upon the idea of “Life”(生) and then the notion of “Death”(死). From our studies, we come to the understanding that the ancient Chinese talks more about “Life”; it is only in a derivative way that the notion of “Death” is mentioned. For him, “Life” and “Death” are but different stages of the whole process of “change”. He accepts death as a part of the rhythm of nature which every creature has to undergo.
