Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 建築與城鄉研究所 === 89 === Graffiti are commonly cosidered mere vandalism or products of deviant behavior. Therefore, authorities concerned take it for granted to get rid of them . However, closer examination of public graffiti shows otherwise. Graffiti are actually an alternative means of expression for those who are less resourceful and powerful in the society. By this means, both hegemony and taboo are challenged. Our public space is also contested by all these anonymous writers and painters. This study also aims to expose the motive for graffiti, and construct the human-environment relationship referring to graffiti. Four types, including sexual, political, hip hop, juvenile graffiti are chosen to be the typical Taiwanese public graffiti for the sake of analysis.
