Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北大學 === 企業管理學系 === 89 === IT Outsourcing means one part or whole of IT is transferred to professional IT service contractors. The goal is not only to lower the cost and raise the efficiency, but to focus on developing the core competence and building competitive advantages by outsourcing the non-core business.
The study objects are the domestic banks and their IT outsourcing contractors, and the definition of "Outsourcing Relationship" is as follows:
1) The B to B relationship model between the outsourcing banks and the contractors.
2) The relationship period is from contracting to finishing.
3) The interaction process between the outsourcing banks and the contractors is the main variables, and the other relative variables will also be researched, like relationship type and fitness.
Because no previous works have been done in post-contracting and both side research, the research purposes are as follows:
1) Explore the interaction process in post-contracting relationship from both side of the outsourcing.
2) Design the structure of IT outsourcing relationship model and to analyze the interaction of relative variables according to relative bibliographies and theoretical models.
3) Make the management suggestions by the research outcome.
The research methods include second data, case study and conceptual structure analysis. The research design is based on B to B relationship model, including 7 variables: Environment, Contractor Characteristics, Bank Characteristics, Task Characteristics, Relationship Type, Fitness and Interaction Process. The two research cases are chosen from contractors and classified by outsourcing type. IBM with Citibank is the case for total outsourcing, and UNISYS and EDS with bank of overseas china is the case for project outsourcing.
The major findings of the research are summarized below:
1) To modify the old model to be more reasonable through the empirical study.
2) To generalize the meaningful variables for both side of outsourcing.
3) To generalize different outsourcing relationship types and to make suggestions.
4) To research the main variables for the relationship in order to raise the efficiency.
5) "Trust" is the base of the relationship, which will be benefit for outsourcing relationship.
