Both the moving concentrated force and the moving concentrated mass cases are considered. The traditional passive vibration absorber and the active bandpass vibration absorber are applied separately to suppress excessive vibrations. Finite element method is used to model the system dynamics. The Bernoulli-Euler beam theory is considered in this work. This study shows that excessive vibration of the system can be effective suppressed by applying a vibration absorber. The active bandpass vibration absorber is found to be a lot more effective than the traditional vibration absorber.
