Traditionally, computer-based test, with powerful computing capability, is effective on formulating tests and grading. However, as the Internet and web-based instruction growing, test on World Wide Web is getting more and more attention. The WWW can be accessed in anytime and anywhere, and has capabilities of hyper-media, interactiveness, cooperation, and open environment. Currently, most tests used didn’t take the advantages of the Internet capabilities. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to develop suitable test types that could use the unique functions of WWW. In order to fulfill the purpose, this study first probed documents in order to build and formulate any possible test types. These types were then tested, and assessed by users from college senior students and experts form college professors. The results of this study indicated that ten possible test types were built as followings: true-false items, multiple-choice items, matching items, short-answer items, essay items, manipulation items, simulation items, multi-media uploading items, chain items, and discussion items. After being assessed by users and experts, this study found that these ten test types were practical and profitable on WWW.
