On the whole, the development of judo during Japanese’s occupation played a crucial role in this sport’s later progress as the first generation of Taiwan’s celebrity was born after 1952 (Showa period),Since then Judo has been molded locally. 3. Because of special political circumstances resulting from the government being returned to Taiwan. Judo was terminated for a few years. Until the seventh (called Martial Performance) and eighth (called “Judo Performance”) province’s sports meet, Judo sport finally became an official event in the province’s sports activities. 4. Judo events were separated by different levels before 1964, and started to have competitions for junior high schools in 1957.
